A star-studded panel of judges recently chose Miss Japan, Riyo Mori, as the winner of Miss Universe 2007. Japanese beauty, Ms. Mori is 20 years-old and has been dancing since she was 4. She loves traveling the world and enjoys visiting museums and watching musicals. The Miss Universe 2007 event was held in Mexico City.
Another Asian beauty, Miss Korea, Honey Lee was placed in the top five. Other Asian contestants also did well, including Miss Thailand, Farung Yuthithum who finished in the top 15, and Miss India, Puja Gupta, who was placed in the top ten. Miss Thailand, 20 year old Farung Yuthithum, raised in Pathum Thani, is a serious classical music lover. She has been playing the piano since she was three and wants to be a concert pianist, she said.
Miss Philippines, Anna Theresa Licaros was the winner of the Miss Photogenic Award. The general public voted on www.nbc.com for the delegate who exemplifies beauty through the lens of a camera. She received a US$1,000 cash prize and a trophy from Rogaska Crystal. Miss China, Ningning Zhang, was the winner of the Congeniality Award which reflects the respect and admiration of the delegate's peers, who voted for her as the most congenial, charismatic and inspirational participant. She also received a US$1,000 cash prize and a trophy from Rogaska Crystal.
